1001 - for bowed metal is written for six vibraphones, harp, celesta and strings.  All the vibraphones are bowed – hence the name of the piece.

Esoteric Mass is written for the wind players of ISO located on the balconies and floor of the hall.

Longitudinal study #2:  A sound can be heard as just a sound––void of all context and meaning other than its own identity––or as a part of a larger whole when placed in a musical context.
The context that a sound is heard in affects how we hear that sound at a given time.

When we again hear the sound alone or in a new context we stop hearing it as just a sound or just a part of a whole but instead begin to recognize it as an object with a latent potential to continuously become something new.

The Norwegian quartet, Lemur will perform a new and considerably enlarged version of their work, Critical Band together with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. „The space is designed by our friends at Arup, so we are very much looking forward to working here.“ Critical Band is a work tailored to the venue it is performed in. This means that for every performance, Lemur analyses the acoustic of the specific hall to define the chords and melodies for the harmonic construction. The instrumentation, placement of the musicians and the overall form is also changeable according to the nature of the space it is performed in.  The piece had its premiere in Nidaros cathedral in 2012 and has since then been performed in churches in Bergen and Oslo.
